Medium: Crayons and Tempera Paint

Reason for Lesson:   Create an Andy Warhol inspired art piece, while enforce the warm/cool color concept

Preparation: 10 minutes to cut background paper

Class time:  30 Minutes

Materials:  1 9x12 white piece of paper for each student. Black paint. Cut out triangles 8 for each student 4 warm colors 4 cool colors. Glue sticks 

Instructions to Lead Lesson:

Review the Andy Warhol Style of Art: Introduce Andy Warhol- August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. Warhol's art encompassed many forms of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga 

Some of his work:

Discuss warm and cool colors. Warm colors are colors in a fire-Orange, red, pink and yellow. Cool colors are in a lake-blue, purple, green and teal. 

Directions for Lesson: 

1.  Have each student fold paper in half Hamburger way and hotdog creating two lines on their paper. 

2. Take one section of the paper and have the kids coat it with the glue stick.

3.  Take one piece of warm color paper and one cool piece of paper. Match them up and stick them to the glue. 

4.  Repeat with the rest of the paper.

5.  Next with have adult paint hand in black and put one hand print in each section.

6.  Repeat
